Good News From London ICC

This week, Michael Williamson, the leader of the Sold-out Movement Church in London, sent this piece of encouragement:

The city of London’s attention has been quickly grabbed by the powerful words of Britain’s Prime Minister (David Cameron) who in a speech this week not only quoted an excerpt from President Barack Obama’s book, Audacity of Hope, but also said, “We are a Christian country. And we should not be afraid to say so!” As several disciples were discussing the PM’s statement at our home Saturday night, I received a call from LBC Radio (London’s Biggest Conversation 97.3) asking my thoughts on the PM’s statement. Before long, I was in a heated debate on the existence of God with a professor also invited to speak on the station. After refuting his false doctrines and then expressing our congregation’s support of Mr. Cameron, the radio station informed me that we were live and that I just invited all listening to visit the London International Christian Church! Our new motto is making the gospel “LONDON’S BIGGEST CONVERSATION”!

The Justice (“Just Us”) League: Sao Paulo

"But God chose the foolish things of this world to shame the wise...so that no one may boast before him." - 1 Corinthians 1:27, 29

Guest Editorial: Raul Moreno (Leader and Planter of the Sao Paulo International Christian Church, Founder of Spiritual Rehab, Founder of the Justice League of Sao Paulo and permanent member of Table 9)

Throughout the kingdom there was a tireless scouring of the churches to find those who qualify to join this elite Mission Team planting. Their mission was simple: save Sao Paulo and stay alive. They have been chosen because of their individual skill sets which, ironically, act more as a hindrance to their mission, but they were chosen. Their powers are made perfect in weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:10) They are foolish. They are lowly. They are despised. They are "not". They are:

The Justice ("Just Us") League: Sao Paulo

Mr. Sensitive (aka Raul Moreno): The leader of the group, Mr. Sensitive has the profound power of negating any valid sentiment or emotion on the premise that there is no justification for any of the 5 senses. When told about a crisis, Mr. Sensitive naturally responds, "It's good" and continues doing whatever it was he was previously occupied with - normally eating açaí.

Wonder Worry (aka Lynda Moreno): After an unprecedented incident in which Wonder Worry could not find her keys for a little over seven minutes, she developed and perfected the intrinsic capability to worry. Ever since that moment she has been able to project worry onto those around her, even when there is factual and logical evidence for no need to worry.

Dr. Discipline (aka Tyler Sears): Tyler was born with the profound ability unlike any other. He is able to situate himself into any environment and almost immediately destroy the patterns of those who contain even the smallest amount of anything with resemblance to discipline. Even reading the words of this description passively makes you not want to do whatever it is you need to do.

Mrs. (Misses) America (aka Shay Sears): Coming from a life solely surrounded by all that is American, Shay has the ability to compare all circumstances in her life and lessen them in comparison to those of America. She can enable people to miss America, even when they are not from America, have never been to America or even are residing within the very borders of the United States.

The Socialist (aka Margie Flores): Her power is to deeply connect on an emotionally social level with any and every person which she encounters. Immediately, people come into knowledge of the depths of her heart which know no limit when it comes to the amount of joy she feels while being around others - particularly those who are not like her.

The Shame Cyclist (aka Malcolm Abbott): The source of his power is undiscovered, but his supernatural abilities include inducing extreme levels of shame (synonymous with "inception"); the ability to incept one's mindset into extreme shame levels in the subconscious, paralyzing the individual from any sensations of happiness. This is especially true and most dominant in single, skinny brothers.

E2 "Emotionally Entitled" (aka Joey Underhill):  E2 posses the unique ability to feel the overwhelming sensation of entitlement to anything and everything at any given time. Not only does E2 feel entitled, but he feels this entitlement at a deep emotional level, only adding more intensity and passion to his powers and can give this to others. It is found with the greatest force in children of wealthy families and/or Kingdom Kids. Born with this ability, Joey can also trigger these sensations into those around him, making them feel as though they are not only entitled to what it is they desire, but to have an emotional foundation which only perpetuates the entitlement to a level unlike any has seen before.

2011 City of Angels ICC Campus and Teen Retreat

GroupShot1This years Campus and Teen Retreat, The Voice of One, was an incredibly faith-building event with over 200 attending!

We all came together on Friday night around the fire at Camp Whittle and Ricky Challinor, the full-time campus minister in OC, challenge us to take on the characteristics of the greatest of all the prophets, John the Baptist.

On Saturday morning, Mason Fetelika, the leader of our Santa Monica College campus ministry, helped us hear the voice of God with his speech Know His Voice. In the afternoon, we had my favorite part of the retreat, human foosball! We closed the evening with each team of disciples doing a skit about the book of Jonah in a certain style. The winners of this event was Gabe Reed's team who did the book of Jonah in mime! Garry Woolfolk played an excellent Jonah! After the skits, we gathered around the campfire and as we sang and worshiped the Lord, each of us wrote down one area of our lives we wanted to change on a piece of paper and threw it into the fire and made a vow to God to surrender this to Him.

On Sunday morning, the retreat culminated with 5 campus students (two were restored and three were baptized) heeding the voice of God and making Jesus Lord of their lives!
